Realme Buds review

Last year the Chinese brand, Realme entered in the market with its first smartphone. Since then, the smartphone company hasn’t seen any lows but only highs in the time span. The smartphones have cut down the sales of Xiaomi’s devices. Devices like Realme C1 and Realme 2 Pro have not only high-end features loaded in it but they come with very aggressive pricing too.

Now, that the brand has set its status in the market, they have recently launched their first earphones, Realme Buds.

Realme Buds is the debutant audio product of Realme which has been priced at Rs. 499 only. Looking at the price it comes, they are very promising and delivers very good performance. Let’s find it out in our Realme Buds review.

Design and Specifications

Keeping the price point in the mind, Realme Buds look like any other standard earphone. The company has stuck to the basics with a 1m long cable and silicon ear tips. Moreover, in this price point, surprisingly you get a three-button inline remote control with microphone.

The cable is wrapped with Kevlar fiber below the splitting ends which makes it more robust and durable. It also carries a magnetic clamping mechanism between the two earpieces. Although the cable gets more strong and rough with Kevlar fiber wrap, the magnetic mechanism reduces the chances of wire to get tangled. The ear tips also get 45 degrees to bend so that they feel very light in weight and comfortable when in the ears- a comfortable fit.

These magnetic clamps don’t do anything more and do not control anything like OnePlus Wireless Bullets. Overall, it is a standard earphone with ear casing build of solid and well-built plastic.

Coming to the three-button inline remote control, there are three buttons controlling volume, playback, and calls. Moreover, the call controls only work on specific and compatible devices. You can also activate your Google Assistant using this three-button inline remote. The Realme Buds connect to the device with a 3.5mm plug. So, if your smartphone, audio player, or computer has 3.5mm audio jack, Realme Bud can easily get connected to your device.

The earphones pack 11mm audio drivers for powerful, thunderous notes that will transform your media and it produces 160 percent louder nirvana bass with higher frequency response. Out of the box, you will get Realme Buds, 6 silicon ear tips with 2 included and a user guide for the users.

Performance

If you are buying an earphone at the price point of Rs. 500, don’t have any high expectations from it- like ultra clear audio quality, loud bass, and noise isolation. That’s the same case with this audio product- don’t expect much from it. Coming to the sound quality, it isn’t either too good or too bad. The lower frequency notes try to overpower the mid and high notes sounding warm in the ears. You might not get sound clarity as you would have expected. Irrespective of any music genre, you will still feel that dizziness in the songs while listening to them.

Overall, you will find vocals fine with little roughness and that’s what you must expect at this price point of Rs. 500.

As the device packs a microphone, the device gives a good performance from both microphone and earphone. The voices can be heard clearly and the one on receiving end can also hear our voices clearly with no disruptions. All in all, you get good listening and comfortable microphone at the perfect place- a sheer example of nice designing. Verdict

At the price point of Rs. 499, the new Realme Buds are really nicely built and gives average audio quality. Moreover, the features and functionalities are premium plus the Kevlar fiber design too. So, you don’t need to keep them very carefully as they can handle your rough behavior too. The inclusion of three-button inline remote control is cherry on the cake. The Realme Buds are really pretty looking and work fine at this price bracket. But, if you consider spending more, 1More Piston Fit is the best choice.
